Our Story
'A touch of Japan' was founded by Itay Ekstein in 2013, and has an successfuly carried out hundreds of quality boutique tours. The company is located in Japan and employs an excellent team of Japanese-speaking tour leaders, who specialize in Japan's history, lifestyle, and culture.
We build unique tailor-made tours to maximize the Japanese experience and offer a wide variety of topics for you to choose from: 'must-see' sites, 'hidden' gems, practical workshops - cooking, calligraphy, Japanese paper and more, we visit fascinating factories and local studios, interesting exhibitions- art, crafts and history, and a wide variety of trails in nature - from easy walks to mountain treks.
Our specialty is 'boutique' tours for small groups and so we provide a perfect solution for those travelers who wish to stay away from 'organized tours' and, on the other hand, are interested in personal accompaniment of local staff.
The tours we build are characterized by thoughtful flexibility and a healthy balance between visiting places that are considered 'must-see' for visitors in Japan and 'hidden gems', which you can only explore if you have a vehicle, a service which we provide almost for the entire duration of the tour.
Another balance that we try to maintain is between the customer as a side viewer and the customer as an active participant, which often results in an interesting interaction with the local people. We are committed to providing our customers an unforgettable in-depth experience that will leave a taste for more!
